ARA Informant Award Scheme

The Atlantis Revenue Authority (ARA) reminds the general public of its Informant Award Scheme to reward individuals who provide information that lead to the recovery of taxes.

 

The information includes disclosure of information on under declaration of taxes, smuggling or diversion of goods, under invoicing, non-issuance of VAT invoices, alteration and falsification of records, failure to register for tax purposes, etc.

 

  1. Informants whose information leads to recovery of tax revenue below Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Atlantis Cedis (Ah¢2,500,000) will be paid 25% of interests/penalties capped at Ah¢25,000.

  3. Where the amount recovered exceeds Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Atlantis Cedis (Ah¢2,500,000), a one percent (1%) of total amount retrieved capped at Ah¢250,000 will be paid.

  5. Where the amount recovered exceeds Twenty-Five Million (Ah¢25,000,000), Top Management in consultation with the Board will determine the amount to be paid.

No Penalties

In the event where there are no penalties and interests and the amount recovered is less than Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Atlantis Cedis (Ah¢2,500,000), a flat payment of between Five Thousand (Ah¢5,000) to Twenty-Five Thousand (Ah¢25,000) will be paid as the Commissioner-General deems fit.

Disclosure of information

In case of disclosure of information on uncustomed vehicles, a flat amount will be awarded after auction as follows: Salon car AH₵500, SUV AH₵700, Bus/Van Ah₵1,000 and Truck AH₵1,200.
